Susan McCoy McVicker

I am a certified BodyTalk Practitioner (CBP).  I have taken BodyTalk Modules 1-9 and am studying the PaRama College advanced BodyTalk curriculum.  Additionally, I have taken BodyChemistry Specifics, MindScape and BreakThrough seminars, which enrich my ability to practice BodyTalk.  I have seen the power of BodyTalk make a difference in people’s lives on a physical, emotional and spiritual level.  BodyTalk supports my belief that all clients have powerful abilities to heal themselves, and that my role is as coach, catalyst and facilitator in the process of that self-healing.

I am also a Nationally Certified Massage Therapist, with 10 years experience and over 1,000 hours of study.  National certification requires a commitment to continuing education at the highest level of Massage Therapy, and I have met the qualifications for recertification several times.  I graduated from the Utah College of Massage Therapy with honors. My massage style is eclectic.  I try to listen to the client’s body and use my intuition to focus on areas calling for attention. My intention is for the client to get exactly the kind of massage s/he wants and needs, so I welcome feedback before, during and after the session.

Prior to entering the healing arts, I was a Wall Street professional for 15 years.  My role as financial controller for Technology Divisions of major financial institutions  gave me budget responsibility for over $500 million in annual technology expenditures.  I also designed the business models and led the implementation of various information systems to improve management and operation of the business.  My education background that supported my Wall Street work was a Bachelor of Arts degree from Duke University with majors in Economics and Political Science, and a Masters in Business Administration from Tulane University.

From Wall Street to Healing...how did that happen?  Several health challenges made me reprioritize what I thought was most important in my life.  I realized that the blessings of family and friends were more dear to me than another rung on the corporate ladder, so I migrated from New York City to Salt Lake City, then to Boulder, deepening my learning of the healing arts along the way.  I am grateful that this work allows me to be in touch with people in a deep and meaningful way, and that as they heal themselves, I am honored to be part of the process.
